Port Bolivar Volunteer Fire Department Memorial Day Flag Raising Ceremony

The Port Bolivar Volunteer Fire Department invites 12 Veterans, active or inactive, to participate in a special flag detail for our Memorial Day Ceremony. This ceremony will take place on Monday, May 26th, and will involve a sunrise ceremonial flag raising to honor our fallen service members.

Event Details Date- Monday, May 26, 2025 Time- Sunrise, 6:22am

Flag Ceremony Protocol

1. Raising the Flag to Full Staff

   • At sunrise, the U.S. flag will be briskly raised to the top of the staff.
   • The flag will then be solemnly lowered to the half-staff position to honor the men and women who have died in service to our country.

2. Half-Staff Position

   • The flag will remain at half-staff until noon, symbolizing the nation's mourning.

3. Noon Ceremony

   • At noon, the flag will be briskly raised to the top of the staff for the remainder of the day. This signifies the nation's resolve to honor the memory of the fallen and the ongoing fight for liberty and justice.

Preparation Meeting Date- Friday, May 23, 2025 Time- 6:00 PM Location- Port Bolivar Cemetery, 4077 Hwy 87 Port Bolivar, Texas

Join us on Friday at 6 PM at the PB Cemetery to help place the flags on the veteran's grave sites and address any questions you may have about the ceremony.
