The High Island Volunteer Fire Department (HIVFD) has been proudly serving the High Island community and the eastern end of the Bolivar Peninsula since 1974. Founded by dedicated local residents, the department was established to provide essential fire protection, emergency response, and rescue services in this remote and vital part of Galveston County.
HIVFD responds to a wide variety of emergencies, including structure fires, wildfires, vehicle accidents, and medical calls.
