Weekly fishing report ending August 17, 2023

Surface water temps 89 degrees, and the water looks about the same in East Bay due to the West, Southwest winds, as the further East you venture the clarity decreases. Winds have been limiting our off-the-shore reef tactics once again this week.

Shrimp imitation lures under popping corks have still been producing the most bites for our anglers, on our early morning trips and Purple Reign continues to work well with ΒΌ oz jig heads fished in the upper portion of the water column.

Please remember to drink plenty of water and utilize plenty of sunscreen, as it is just plain hot out, and it is critical you stay hydrated and do not get overheated or sunburned, as after 10 am, you really begin to feel the effects if you are not used to it.
