Weekly fishing report ending November 9, 2023

The surface water temperature is 63 degrees, and water clarity is very good. We were able to fish near and off the shore reefs again this week, and both areas produced very good catches of trout, and Bull Reds on our artificial lure trips in the 4-to-5-foot depth range.

Once we find nervous bait activity, the active fish are close by. We also targeted mud flats with scattered shell around pinch points with current and nervous bait, with great success in the 2.5-to-3-foot depth range.

Shrimp imitation lures with Fish Smack popping corks, with 14” - 18” leaders have still been producing the most bites for our anglers, resulting in great success on our chartered trips, as well as ¼ oz jig heads with paddle tails without popping corks fished slowly.

On our live bait trips, live shrimp have produced consistently, and provided plenty of line tugging action for our fishing clients, fished under a popping cork and 24” leaders producing the most consistent bites. The Front that pushed through really has increased the bite and anticipate that to continue over the next few days.
