Weekly fishing report ending November 23, 2023.

The surface water temperature is 65 degrees, and water clarity = Good. Early morning trips have been better for us this week with the high tides and strong outgoing tide movement. Points and flats with scattered shells produced very good catches of trout, reds, and a few black drum on our artificial lure trips in the 3 to 4-foot depth range.

For us, if we find nervous bait the fish are there, so when we don’t see bait activity we move on. A few birds working, but did not see as much bird action as the previous week.

Shrimp imitation lures with Fish Smack popping corks, with 14” - 18” leaders have still been producing the most bites for our anglers, resulting in great success on our chartered trips, as well as Deadly Dudley Terror Tails in Blue Moon Chartreuse on 1/4 and 1/8 oz jig heads, depending upon wind conditions and water depth.

On our live bait trips, live shrimp have produced consistently, and provided plenty of Fish Fighting action for our clients, fished under a popping cork and 20- 24” leaders producing the most consistent bites. The bites should continue to improve as the water cools and the days are getting shorter.
