TxDot now has a contractor working to do Emergency Maintenance on Hwy 87 where undermining has started to wash away the base and some of Hwy 87. With Hurricane Season starting June 1st time will tell. Hwy 87 thru Winnie is a major evacuation route for homeowners and visitors to Bolivar Peninsula and a way for many to get to and from work not to mention an emergency services route.
