October is in full swing and Fall has blessed us with cooler mornings and pleasant afternoons and evenings. Coffee on the deck as the sunrise paints the sky is like eye candy on the horizon. Neighbors walk the beach in the morning and afternoons looking for treasures that wash ashore with each high tide. Traffic is little to none both on the beach and around Bolivar. The Jane Long Festival is October 14th and 15th at Fort Travis and this year, yes it's a 2 day event with more fun for the whole family, Live Music and a fireworks Show kicks it off Friday Night. Saturday games for the kids, live music, rein-actors and tours of the old gun batteries which have been cleaned and lighted. Peninsula Sport Park- Grand Slam Flounder Tournament, October 22, 2016 6am-5pm. Out of the Bolivar Yacht Basin raising funds for rebuilding the Peninsula Sports Park for our youth on Bolivar Peninsula. Bringing Baseball back to Bolivar for our youth!!!
