5pm Update, Hwy 124 Still Closed With Flooding, Still Not Safe For Many To Pass Thru.

Hwy 124 between Winnie Tx and High Island Texas is still closed, even with the levels dropping it's still not safe for many to try and pass thru one area at FM 1985. Many have made the plung so they can make it to their destination but this morning and this afternoon Trucks is all I've seen pass thru while all cars and lower vehicles have turned around. We'll keep you updated as to when this stretch opens for thru traffic on one of two routes to paradise Bolivar Peninsula and Crystal Beach Tx.
